zapp
I've just got home after buying the rather loverly Candy Apple Red Valenti Jazz from Richardd. I can only confirm some of the other comments from fellow forumites that have played this bass. Easy to play, great neck, sounds fantastic passive or active etc etc. I'm quite pleased with myself Now to find a suitable amp to level the walls with..... chris_b
No doubt it's a fantastic instrument. Nino Valenti used to work for Roger Sadowsky so it's not surprising he has a reputation for making great basses. Over on Talkbass he's regarded as a class act. I know a Sadowsky player who is very happy using Markbass, but if I was buying a new rig to match the quality of this bass I'd be looking at Bergantino, Aguilar and Barefaced. chris_b
I'm sure an EBS combo would be just fine. I did gig last week which provided the backline, an EBS Reidmar and 2 x 110 cabs. I've never been tempted by EBS but at lowish volume and with the character filter button pressed in the whole thing sounded pretty good. flychris
Hey, welle done dude ! Those valenti are excellent instruments. I also have one and will not put it on the sale market. (same for my sadowsky) And those will be the only two basses I will keep. Any high end amp will suit this valenti, EBS, or anything in that range, but depends really what your tastes are. LukeFRC
someone I know in wakefield is selling the little 60 watt EBS combo if that's of interest can get you his details? (he's not on bass chat so hope not breaking rules here)
zapp
Cheers Luke but I've just ordered an EBS Classic Drome from Bass Direct. It seems to have the spec that suits my needs at the moment. Thanks for the other comments Chris and Flychris, the sort of sounds I like are typicall EBS'ish. Bit of Tal and Marcus, so the Drome should fit the bill. Might do a little review once I've had a play.
