karlfer
Just been watching Sounds of the 70's on Yesterday, SAHB's Delilah still kills me. And loads of curly leads, yay!!!!

DiMarco
SAHB aren't very well known here in the Netherlands. A band from the Liverpool area who were living and gigging here in the nineties introduced me to their music. The impossible dream, Sahb stories and ofc the Live album are still among my favourites. Urban Bassman
Theirs is the best version of Delilah by far.

Beedster
I reckon there'd have been an Oly White Telecaster Bass (mudbucker version) in there somewhere also?

Japhet
I've wanted to do the SAHB version of Delilah for yonks, but everybody else in the band just looks bemused! I used to play it in a previous band and the punters used to go completely nuts for it - especially as an encore.
Paul S
SAHB! Sweet memories! First time I saw them was at the Alexandra Palace Rock festival in August 1973! I was 15, it was my first major rock festival. Uriah Heep topped the bill, but there was Manfred Mann's Earth Band, Gary Moore. Can't remember who else. I missed the last train home and slept outside Fenchurch Street Station with the winos. They opened with the Osmonds' 'Crazy Horses' as I recall. SAHB, not the winos. Pretty well unknown at that point but they were on Old Grey Whistle Test a short while afterwards (Next and Faith Healer) and became a big name act. I became a bit of a fan - saw them numerous times, including SAHB without Alex. I place Chris Glen in my top 10 bass players as I think he has a great feel for what he does. And Zal Cleminson is a manic genius on guitar. Still is. Great live shows.

BetaFunk
I still love the story about the SAHB and the Doobie Brothers at Knebworth. It's the stuff that rock legends are made of.
KiOgon
SAHB even used to come to the De-La-Warr in Bexhill - Wednesdays IIRC we had 'beat night' good times Interesting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=td3mMCnu0Y0 Edited December 25, 2013 by KiOgon
Pinball
It's a real shame that there is so little video of SAHB. Alex Harvey's song writing was fantastic (sometimes almost unhinged, checkout Shake that thing) and there stage presence was amazing and he told a really good story. What about this for a band with attitude lol Or this, I'm not sure the hippies knew what to make of it. molan
I saw Alex Harvey many times. One of my favourite ever live acts. Zal Cleminson was a great guitarist as well. Love his tone on some of the SAHB stuff

Zal didn't think he could fit in it anymore I think they are still playing aren't they? Anyway the title track from there best Album in my humble opinion. gelfin
Saw Sahb many years ago. Brilliant. One great laugh at the gig was when Alex dropped his mic over the front of the stage. The guy in the audience made him say "please" to get it back. He took it all in great humour, with quite a few expletives.
Bassman Steve
They were a truly stunning band and AH wrote amazing songs. I particularly like Man In The Jar - great story. All of that underpinned by Zal Cleminson's incredible guitar playing. Wonderful clip of him on YouTube playing with Elkie Brooks, a frantic solo that I only imagine he could play. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaTSC8AxNfo

Dave
Then It's a shame you're in Lanark Dave, as I managed to persuade my lot to do it, and it's now one of the most popular songs in our set. We do have a fiddle instead of keys but it works ok. Recording it live this Thurs too! SAHB's was certainly the best version imho, Alex bought menace to it.
