i do worry a little. you could say that you can't beat human touch, but Richard seems to cope. I think you have to give most of the credit to the makers of Trillian though. That program contains some insanely nice bass sounds that require almost no effort to get them to sound great.

I'm not a keyboard player; I'm a guitarist, so I put a lot of thought into making a bass track, which usually comes about as part of the writing process with Bluey. Occasionally they'll be handed over to a bass player to record which is what happened on the Positivity album; mostly my bass lines but played by Randy.

Besides, I like to think that what I do is beneficial to the craft of bass playing and my work has certainly benefited some bass players! Bluey told me that they used 'Colibri' at Berkley as part of their bass curriculum, thinking that it was a live bass track! In fact, most people assume that it was recorded by Randy, which is one hell of a compliment.
