sammybee
Check here and also Ebay - there are some serious MM bargains around at the moment. Expect to pay between £600-750 at current prices.
BetaFunk
The internet is a good place to start looking for one.
Gust0o
Some great prices on here, all told. Of course, "great" is subjective - you're not going to get one for free, but they are going for less now than they have previously.
Monckyman
MM at a great price would be a SUB

Bolo
Try a MM SUB or Sterling by Musicman version if you're on a budget.

Storky
Just seen a Stingray go on ebay for £600 which i think seems a very good price. (I even had a bid on it myself even though i can't afford it, but luckily - missed out!)
geoffbyrne
A SUB with a Retrovibe preamp & a Seymour Duncan SBM-4A or -5A depending on string countage.... Pretty much original Stingray at 1/3 of the cost - can put a 3 pos mini switch for parallel/single/series too. G. Dazed
Having recently owned a stingray, USA sub and sterling sb14 I can say I'd go for a sub if you can get on with the less showy paint and slab body. I found the slimmer neck sb too small even though I thought I preferred jazz type necks. The USA sub has the sound covered and if you're sharp you can pick one up for well under £300... The sterling sub even less (£200) but I haven't tried one of those. I was surprised as I'd always fancied a stingray, being a huge Flea fan for years, once I had one it left me a bit deflated. Cant put my finger on it but i expected more from it. At least it's my stingray gas cured for life........ I hope. Good luck in your search.
