A lovely looking and sounding Jazz, very punchy. The photo's are from my phone and don't do it justice, the fretboard, neck and headstock have taken on that great aged mellow yellow look if you know what I mean.

A few dings and scratches comensurate with a bass that is 30 years old but generally excellent condition, this baby has been well looked after.
I've changed the pots as the pots it had on when I got it weren't original. At some point they had been changed to accept the black plastic Jazz knobs that are used nowadays. I changed the pots back to split shaft type to be able to revert to the Stat style knobs that were used on '83 Jazz's.
I also changed the pups to Fender Custom Shop Custom 60's. I have the pups and pots that I replaced.
It's strung with D'Addario Chromes and these flats sound superb and very punchy on this bass, very old school, but you may want to change to rounds.

Viewing and a try out recommended, I'm based in Northampton.

I have one of these '83 Jazz basses in Ivory. They date from a time when Fender introduced several important changes such as the biflex truss rod, heavier bridge, new style tuners, one-piece pickguard, four bolt micro-tilt neck plate and straplocks. The pickups are still in the 70's position so give that characteristic tone. These are very under-rated basses.
Good luck with the sale. Someone will get a real bargain here.

Thanks petergales. It sure is a nice bass, but however much I'd like a nice collection of basses like you her indoors only allows me one bass at a time and I've just acquired a Sandberg California so unfortunately the Jazz has to go. If only I could have kept all my previous Jazz babies, ahhh....

Hi Gazza. I really ought to thin out my collection but the problem is "which ones do I choose to go?" I've sold basses in the past and regretted it afterwards (including a Sandberg California PM) so my '83 Jazz has to be a keeper as well as an investment.
