anzoid Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Had one of these and liked everything about it apart from the relic job - just looked nasty up close - like someone really half-arsed it. Probably a bit lame to say that's what put me off the bass, but in the end that was what killed it for me - it looked tatty rather than road worn. No mojo Quote
Norris Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 I can't comment on basses but my guitarist loves his thinline telecaster copy and users it regularly in his pro band. Well constructed, light as a feather, cheap as chips and sounds great Quote
Painy Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015
I can't comment on basses but my guitarist loves his thinline telecaster copy and users it regularly in his pro band. Well constructed, light as a feather, cheap as chips and sounds great
Same with our lead vox/rhythm guitarist and his Vintage Les Paul Custom. He's been looking for a 'proper' Gibson for about 2 years now and has around £3000 to play with but still hasn't been able to find one that he prefers to his Vintage! Quote
Fisheth Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 (edited) Having a look at one of these tomorrow, due to someone selling one locally. I'll report back with if I decided to buy it or not! Edited December 20, 2015 by Fisheth Quote
paul_5 Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 My guitar (6 string) is a 'Vintage' SG in translucent red finish - superb instrument for the money (my brother bought it 2nd hand for less than a ton). Took a bit of setting up, but now plays at least as well as the genuine Gibson SGs I've played. Quote
alyctes Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 I looked at these and was put off by the relicing, not being a fan of such things. Shallow of me, perhaps. Quote
Fisheth Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Doesn't bother me as long as I don't take it out of the house I think, as only I would really look at it! Quote
