MarkG3 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) I actually got this bass last week but only just got round to posting pics. It's my birthday coming up and so me and the misses went 50/50 on it. It's a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass V. Brilliant bass, really surprised by it, it sounds and plays great and there really isn't anything I can say negative about it! This is my second attempt at getting a fiver, the first one was a Vintage Est96(I think) a five string stingray copy. That was pretty horrible and all the frets were razor sharp and just sounded a bit dull. As it was about the same price as this Squier I was a bit worried I would have similar problems. But as I said everything is great, I've owned various MIM and USA Fenders and this is right up with them if not better than them! HowieBass Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Great looking bass and, as I know from experience, Squier (Fender? Ok, probably the Cort factory) are turning out some great instruments these days! Quote
MarkG3 Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 Thanks everyone I've played it loads today, the most I have played in about a year or so, up until recently I hadn't touched any of my basses for about 4 months..............so this has kick started me again Quote
fender73 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Lovely! I just purchased a Cort 5 which I am super happy with. Quote
Josh Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 For the money they are one of the best budget 5 strings out there. I had to put some classic control knobs and tort pick guard on mine though: Quote
gsgbass Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Congrats on your new five stringer. It looks great! Best of playing with it. Quote

Annoying Twit Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Lovely bass. Which flavour of Squier is it? Vintage Modified? Quote
MarkG3 Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 Thanks everyone, yea its a VM. Plays really good, I'm learning all my favourite songs that would be in drop D or played on a 5 string so it's a good challenge. Been playing it loads! Really pleased Quote
