Right, here we go....this is the first time I've tried to sell/trade on Basschat. :scratch_one-s_head:

I bought this used Spector Euro LX4 a few months ago from Bass Direct for £1100. Now, having spoken with some fellow Basschat bods, it seems that I paid well over the going rate. Such is life, I'm a novice player and, looking back, I should have done my research, but you live and learn, eh? Another fellow Basschatter, praised by others for his knowledge of Spectors, advised me that a ballpark resale figure would start around the 900 quid mark which sounds fair enough to me!

Here's the link for the original Bass Direct ad that I responded to...http://www.bassdirec..._4_Classic.html

The Bass Direct spec states a 35" scale. Now, as I've said, I'm a novice but measuring from the nut to the 12th fret I make it 17" which would mean it's a 34" scale...wouldn't it? . I hope the pics come out ok on here...the last 2 which show the only flaws on the bass that I can see (very small marks above a pickup/to the right of the screw, and on the upper body). It was sold to me in a padded TGI gigbag which it's still in.

The Spector plays and sounds AMAZING! But, for some strange reason, it just doesn't suit me. To put this into perspective I've recently purchased a used Squier CV Precision (cheers, Funkle) which "fits" me perfectly.

I'm also open for trades, and I'm particularly looking out for a Musicman Stingray which would be the bass I'd replace the Spector with if it's sold.

Cheers, peeps!

Hi Mate, i have a new japanese special run limited edition , aged candy apple red 1975 jazz bass with pj config, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fret board mop inlays and white binding, it is a fantastic sounding looking bass i have the same trouble as your good self it just dont fit right somehow !!! big fat tone with the pj pups made to perfection these basses outclass the american basses. i also purchased a fender tweed case for the bass . its barely 2 weeks old. would be happy to do an exchange with you if you were interested. cheers George

Hi George....

Wow, stood next to Geddy on your profile pic. Geddy is THE reason for my becoming aware that there is such a thing as the bass guitar...It was 1980, I was 12 years old and I'd just heard Permanent Waves...

That's an extremely tempting offer there, buddy, but I've kinda had my head turned by Musicman so I'm going to tread water for a little while longer.

Cheers

Too bad, got a Musicman Bongo HS 4 string to trade.

You know what...? The Bongo still is one bass that I'm really undecided about. I bet they're great to handle, and I'm sure that they sound amazing, but whenever I see one I don't know if I want to play it or play WITH it. I was a child of the 70's and never did get a Star Wars Han Solo Millenium Falcon. Nah, it says more about me that I would have gone for your Precision, buddy.

GLWYS, mate.
