BassBod Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Just hang in there, one will pop up at a good price. I've had a borrowed one here for a few weeks now, and I've used it on a gig or two. I like it, reminds me of a Wal Pro/Precision but I wouldn't spend real money to get one..£350 would be my limit for a good condition example. Good condition in this case would have to include the many finish cracks all over the body, obviously! Quote
discreet Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 They're great. I'm enjoying my Hayman bass which has a similar body shape and neck and is a precursor to the Shergold basses. But if you're into thin, narrow Jazz-type necks I'd say avoid! Very much the chunky P-type feel. Which I happen to love. Quote
project_c Posted January 25, 2014 Author Posted January 25, 2014 Actually it's the neck that really impressed me on the Marathon, it was similar in feel to my '83 Precision (Fullerton re-issue I think), but with narrower string spacing. Felt great. Quote
