Lewmorg
Ive just purchased a brand new MXR M87 bass compressor and each time i plug it to any power source the gain reduction meter lights up the whole way hence then when i turn the compressor on i get no sound as its so compressed is this faulty or is there a way round it? cheers
Fionn
Are you saying that the led meter is constantly maxed out? Does the threshold control have no effect whatsoever?
Lewmorg
Hi yeah the second i plug the power source in it maxes right out! tried turning every knob bout no change, I've just left all the controls at 12 o'clock and the ratio at 4 for now but nothing
Fionn
I'd turn the input and output controls to minimum. Bring up the input until the signal from your bass is just clipping the orange led, then bring up the output until the volume between the effected and dry signal is the same (unity). Sibob
Presumably this is powering it with no actual audio input?! Straight back to the shop! Si
sk8
There have been a few quality issues with the M87. Back to the shop it goes
