Si600
Could I take an instrument jack to 3.5mm jack cable from a line out into the microphone port on a laptop for a quick recording to pass on without any ill effects?
Dad3353
Could I take an instrument jack to 3.5mm jack cable from a line out into the microphone port on a laptop for a quick recording to pass on without any ill effects?
Yes, although the sound quality will probably be less than optimum. If there's a way of controlling the level coming from the line out, I'd turn it right down at first, and increase slowly. A mic input is generally pretty sensitive, and can be easily overloaded (distortion, horrible 'grungy' sounds...). Damage is, however extremely unlikely (I learnt years ago to not use the term 'impossible'... ). Other than that, the answer's a lemon. Suck it and see. RockfordStone
its doable, but as said above, sound quality probably won't be all that and watch your volumes
