originalfunkbrother Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Hi guys, Not sure if this is the right forum but I have a Yamaha TRB5F and I am looking to replace the volume control knobs. Can anyone suggest 1) suitable knobs that will work well on the bass and 2) a tech good at this thing? Many thanks Quote
iconic Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 If you need like for like knobs try yamaha uk they are very helpful, otherwise just measure shaft diameter and depth and then ebay is your friend. Quote
JapanAxe Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Do you mean the pots or just the knobs? Makes a big difference! Quote
originalfunkbrother Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 Thanks iconic! I mean the knobs. The bass has the factory standard black knobs but I am looking for something to complement the colour of the bass itself. Quote
uncle psychosis Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 You really don't need a tech to change knobs. They normally just have a little grub screw to attach them! I really like these telecaster style ones: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-NEW-Vanson-Rounded-Screw-Knobs-for-TL-guitar-Chrome-Black-or-Gold-VS002-/120881725102?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&var=&hash=item1c251cbeae#ht_421wt_1161 You get similar ones, but with a dimple so that you can see where they are set. Thunderbird Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 If I recall correctly the shaft size for these Yammys is 6mm but I am not 100% sure Quote
originalfunkbrother Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 There seems to be a 0.1mm discrepancy between the Yamaha stock knobs and the ones uncle is suggesting. Shouldnt be a problem...or should it? Quote
