0353203 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 (edited) Hi All, Price drop to £2,200 plus shipping. Up for sale is my 100% original 1968 P Bass with its OHSC. Plenty of action under its belt, this one has a nicely worn in neck that plays like a dream.....still plenty of life left in the frets though. Dings, dongs, and plenty of wear around the body edge.....a bass with some stories to tell.....but what a growl...! Case in decent enough condition. Feel free to get in touch with any questions - or to arrange to come and have a play with no obligation of course. Cheers, Si Edited February 8, 2014 by 0353203
Jebo1 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Looks like a beauty. I know these perhaps aren't as desirable as the early 60s ones, but they often play wonderfully. It also looks the business! Good luck with the sale. I have 0.001% of the sale price.
mckendrick Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 At a mere two and a half grand that's the most desirable thing I've seen on here in yonks.
Thor Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 My year of birth bass! Very nice indeed. Very tempting

sblueplanet Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Lovely. Maybe if I look at it in the mirror I can imagine it's a lefty.

tom1946 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Fabulous. My year of birth bass would have to be an upright double
It's the cases I'm after Si Seriously mate, occasionally an instrument pops up on here that just screams my name, it's hard to pin down exactly what does it exactly, although I find that the words 'Precision', 'vintage' and 'sunburst' are common to all examples. However, even by my very high standards, that is clearly one hell of a bass at one hell of a price. If I could justify it I would stop skulking around in your shed, go to the cashpoint and do the right thing. Good luck with the sale, the new owner will incur my lasting envy!

Marsy Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Hey si, Where are you based mate? Cheers, Stephen
thebuckets Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 This is my YOB Bass and my fav colour scheme but dont think id trust myself with it in some of the rough houses we play in. Belting bass at a good price glwts wish I had the funds...

I reckon it's probably scared a Strat or two in its time also and growls every time a keyboard player even looks at it. The odd p****d punter invading the stage isn't going to worry it in the least All joking aside, some old basses just look built to last, that's one of them
Jebo1 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Basses are built to be played. My 66 Fender has cigarette burns, a stain from a pint glass and a bite mark! Buy it, play it, love it (and get insurance!)
JapanAxe Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Just interested to know what's going on with the whitish patch above the strap button. Is that on top of the finish, worn through to primer, or what?
