Cosmo Valdemar
Damn good tone for sure. Still sounds like Geddy even on a P. My money's on Exit, Stage Left though. Or Signals (the Rick stuff).
jgmh315
For me either Moving Pictures or Hemispheres.
visog
Rick-o-Sound all the way! Steinberger was meh. The Wal was flappy. The current Jazz sounds good but is getting over-grindy. It helps that the Rick co-insided with their best work IMHO.
xilddx
This does it for me, but I've never been a fan of his recorded bass sound. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCFcWdco1nw

White Cloud
Power windows. Current Jazz grit hurts my sensitive ears and tortures my soul.

Thor
For me, I love this tone
RhysP
A Farewell to Kings/Hemispheres era is my favourite. Worst IMO is the horrendous "elastic bands on a shoe box" Wal years.
steve-soar
A quality tone, WOT. So much air and tasteful use of compression. It breathes and sings in such a nice way.

Geddys nose
3 mins in my favorite Geddy Lick and my favorite tone. Pretty much at this stage the best band in the world IMO. http://youtu.be/YpCASVFyQoE

bassmachine2112
I,m in-Rickenbacker tone is the best. Maybe a production thing with modern technology, anolog vs digital or modern mixing for i-phones/pads
Cairobill
Live tone on Exit Stage Left does it for me…***Rickenbacker***
jonsmith
For me, Geddy's best sound was around the time of ESL/Signals (Rick & Jazz both sound great), although I quite like the raw sound on AFTK as well. These days, although his studio sound is OK, his live sound is quite disappointing in comparison to the old days. In fact I think the whole band had a better sound in the late 70s/early 80s. I think the P sounds good on the first album, although I suspect he wanted the Rick sound (which is why he went out and bought one as soon as they got their advance). spongebob
TBH I like all of Ged's tones, I think each suited the sound of the band at the time. I love his tone of the new CD/DVD - as much as I love Ged with the Ric, it worked well at that time, but like the Wal, things change. I did find the 'Rush In Rio' tone a little bright, though.
