Beedster
Anyone know if it's alright to string TI Jazz Flats through the body? Never had much luck with La Bella flats, and my new Fender RBIV is crying out to get rid of its current rounds. Having paid quite a lot for the TIs, I don't want the E string going before I've even played it! Cheers C
2x18
I have always strung my Mustangs through the body with Ti Flats ( Med scale ) Chris and never had any problems! --- I also had a Custom Shop Classic Jazz that was also shod through the body with Ti Flats long scale! Will.
Old Horse Murphy
I asked the same question a while back Chris and the consensus was a big "yes". As a result I've done it on 2 basses without any issue** ** this statement does not act as a warranty or any form of guarantee for the robustness of Thomastik Infeld bass strings and the author is in no way liable for any failure of the strings. dannybuoy
Strung em through the body on my P Bass, survived the last 3 years just fine! They're a bit more flexible than most flats so less prone to breaking with the sharp angle.

EssentialTension
I did once break a TIJF A string at the bridge while it was strung through the body on a P bass. However it was a one off and I must have done 70 or so gigs with those strings. It's safe enough.
