Philthebushman
Hey guys and girls, I just thought i would introduce myself. My name is Phil, I'm 24, based in the south-west (nr Bath/Bristol) and in London some of the time. I'm taking a break from my final year of medical school this year to concentrate on my playing, as the band I am playing with is doing very well and will hopefully be signed to a major in the next few weeks. I have been playing for the last 12 years and have played all sorts of genres from Metal to Sri Lankan folk music. My gear: Warwick Thumb thru neck 4-string '65 Fender P-bass with J-pickup (it wasn't me that put it in, but I wouldn't have been able to afford it otherwise!) bought just yesterday from a guy called Paul Turner who plays with Jamiroquai Ampeg V4BH Ampeg 6x10" cab Nice to meet you all. bass_ferret
Welcome. Good news on the band front - beats working 100 hour weeks as a junior doctor
OldGit
Welcome. Good news on the band front - beats working 100 hour weeks as a junior doctor
Hi Phil, nice to hear of you again. I'm so glad you are still playing. You know I used to groove away on the other side of the stage in the horn section just riding on your bass lines? Still planning to go doctoring then? A good idea to take a few years off to give the band thing a go first before the doctor dosh and commitment sucks you in.... Your successor in the Soul Destroyers is on this very Forum (Rich). Sounds like doing very well! 65 P bass eh? Enjoy that .... 100 hours a week? Sadly they are not allowed to do that any more It means Phil and his colleagues will be operating on you with less than 50% of the hands on training time of his predecessors but hey, that's European Elfin' Safety Law for you Welcome
