Shockwave
A quick hour this morning reveals the top horn and cutaways. The primer has really penetrated quite deep. I'll be sanding it fine and reapplying another coat.
Shockwave
Should do. I changed the white pickguard that came on my standard HB jazz for a triple ply black/white/black off ebay. Holes all in the right place. Had to do a little filing around the pickup hole and where it buts up to the bell plate but apart from that that, all dandy!!
Could you link us to that scratchplate? Cheers! miles'tone
Few pics of the new 75 J... Unfortunately I missed out on the natural 75 J last night but I did order up a cheeky p bass... It was rude not to really it was less than £20 This bass sounds, looks and plays fantastic... I reckon if you reshaped the headstock and wrote Sadowsky on it you'd fool more people than not.
Fair do's that looks lovely mate. Annoying Twit
Nice work on the sanding, and that Jazz bass really does look lovely. Matt P
Yorks5stringer, any chance of measuring the string spacing on your progressive 5 please? and a weight would be nice too, I've been looking for a backup for my Letts 5 and these look mighty tempting (even at full price) if there were options for drop-in replacement pickups that would make it a no brainer (I've been wanting to try nordstrands for ages!) thanks Matt
If it is like the Prog 4, they are individual bridge/saddles each held with two screws. So could be plugged and moved if needed. I changed mine for a single P type, but alignment was tricky, needs to be within a fraction of a millimetre accuracy. Probably a luthier job to move the originals

It does not feel heavy and the body is quite contoured. At the Bridge the string spacing is between 1.6 cm and 1.8 cm depending on which strings! As they are, they don't really grip the frets (on the ex-Andytre deko jazz bass neck) enough, but I assume that they will once filed down. If I successfully defret the neck, does that mean that I'll have to buy a deko jazz bass to fit it?
Andytre
Woop! Shipping confirmation! I'm glad that necks getting some use rather than being stuck in the cupboard with all my other spares!
Annoying Twit
Andy, good luck with the shipping. I haven't actually really done anything with the neck yet, I've just been looking at it really closely from time to time. I managed to remove the nut, but it wasn't in very tight
kodiakblair
Finally collected yesterdays Deko fretless uke. Reason for Deko status - the D string has 2 nodules on the length.
Annoying Twit
Nodules? Can you post a photo of these 'nodules'?
