That Baritone seems to be sticking, and looks quite expensive against a £19 P-bass!
Looking at Dekos too much has changed my impression of the price of instruments. I remember looking at the solid spruce topped classical guitars with Fishman pickups. £150 or thereabouts seems a lot, in comparison to the Dekos, but it isn't compared to anything else. £64 for a usable new baritone guitar is surely a bargain. £200 for that resonator thing not so much, however.

The dekos seem to be about 35-40% of the new price for the item. That would put the new price of the baritone at about £180 or so.

£19 for a usable p-bass. Those sorts of prices are having an effect on my instrument pricing mental processes.

What's the deal with the designs of the Harley Benton interments?

I can understand the copies of the classics from the big names, but this Baritone looks like an extract copy of the Eastwood Sidejack Baritone apart from the shape of the top of the headstock, so I wouldn't be surprised if they both came from the same far-eastern factory.

Even though the Eastwood isn't by any means original being based on the Moserite shape, it's sufficiently different enough, especially in its baritone incarnation, that I would have though Eastwood can't be at all happy with the fact that the Harley benton version exists.

There are examples of Harley Benton products being rebrands. I can't remember all the details, but the metal resonator bass is one example. The Joyo pedals. I'm sure there are others. Presumably if Eastwood owns the rights to the design, they'd be compensated for the use of that design. If they don't own the design, then they don't have much to complain about.

BTW: The Eastwood Classic 4 and the Harley Benton HB60 look close enough for one to have inspired the other. But, the body shape is slightly different.

Ah, yes I remember him. I see he's still using the "German Engineered" misnomer. When I contacted him he would not admit they were B Stocks he was buying in and was emailing me into the early hours with abuse....!

He's selling this 'tribute' to a 1950s Fender bass. It has a Wilkinson pickup. Could this be a HB with a reshaped headstock and fake decal? If so, £175 seems quite a profit margin. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Beautiful-1950s-Reproduction-Precision-Bass-In-Sunburst-Right-Handed-/131484065974?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1e9d0fa0b6

P-Bass Deko. Also, some others.

EDIT: Some guitars including a LP copy and a 'Vintage strat', but they disappeared quickly. P-Bass still there. £19 I think.

EDIT: P-bass gone.

Hello, everyone! I was the one who got this P-bass. I hope it turns out ok,i've been looking at these decorative instruments for a long time, actually looking for one of the vintage series basses, but I could never seem to find them available in time, they would just go too fast (and get posted at the weirdest hours...),so I snatched this one as fast as I could. I'm hoping that with a few tweaks and adjustments,I might make it gig worthy...Has anybody else got one of these? Did they come with any severe issues?

And, both this and the acoustic guitar that I was copying the address for have sold out within seconds.

One that has been there for a long time has disappeared - the lefty acoustic bass - should be in my hands tomorrow.
Yes, I noted that the last bass had gone. (I don't include the decorative thumb bass). I've been off the internet for a while, so was pleased to see that Vixivi was keeping an eye out.

Dekos!!!

Some disappeared within seconds. There is still an acoustic. Given that there seemed to be a few go up, this is disappointing.

I think there was a Telecaster TE-40. No basses tonight it seems :(
