A HB Tele in general, or specifically the double humbucker TE-40?
Vixivi
Oh, didnt notice it was a double humbucker model. Just gassing for a classic style tele.
blablas
One that has been there for a long time has disappeared - the lefty acoustic bass - should be in my hands tomorrow.
And it is! There is minimal hump in the fingerboard between fret 10 and 17, in this same area there are also some high frets, there are also quiet a few sharp fret ends. Maybe the bridge nut is too low, but I can only be certain of that once I've fixed the fingerboard. In principle there are no problems I can't fix! For the rest the bass looks nice, it tunes up okay, haven't tested the electronics yet. Edited April 17, 2015 by blablas
Annoying Twit
I wouldn't be able to fix a hump in a fretboard. How will you do this on a fretted bass? Take the frets out and then replace them later on?
blablas
Exactly that. But the hump on this bass is probably small enough to be fixed with a full fret leveling and crowning job. I did a more thorough check on what is wrong and for the time being the 12th fret is the major cause of the problem, once I leveled that one I hope I know in more detail where I need to go to get this bass set up to my liking. Annoying Twit
Strat deko. http://www.thomann.d...dard_s_deko.htm Gone already. @Blablas - you reminded me to go to the machineshop here at work and borrow a flat handle-less metal file. My most recent deko purchase was bought so that I could practice working on the frets. I'm going to try a level using the draw lines on the frets and slide a file down the neck method. yorks5stringer
I need to stop looking at this thread. I've just been idly wondering how I could amplify the Warwick Mini Thumb bass and use it as a tiny backup..... yes, I know it has nylon strings but it comes with a stand and mini gig bag! Annoying Twit
Something about Thomann's page is confusing my program, and I've had to stop it. I'll look into updating it tonight, but even more than being busy at work and home has limited how much I've had my eye on things, I can't watch for dekos at all right now until I work out what has changed. EDIT: I've worked out what was causing my program to go wild. Unfortunately it most likely isn't Thomann trying to stop people using bots to look into deco instruments.
I wonder how many they've got? The last batch of these must have been quite big as they stayed around for a while.
Using the KB method, it says that they have five of them. However, I've never seen more than 5 dekos, so wonder why this is. EDIT: 5 String acoustic bass still up. alittlebitrobot
It's still there and, using the previously described method, it still says there's five of them. I doubt that. I'd say that's just an automatic thing.

Vixivi
I ordered the p bass. Hope i dont receive a mail tomorrow saying it's out of stock tho (had this with the pj-5). Thanks for sharing AT
Annoying Twit
Good luck Vixivi. Time will tell what sort of email you get. I'm still tempted by the eight string guitar. It's not in all fourths tuning, so may require new strings if the gauges are too far out. Perhaps you could negotiate for Grangur for the PJ, if it's a five on offer. Vixivi
I'll await an order confirmation first. If they seem to be out of stock again, i'll be tempted to ask Grangur for more info.
