DEKOS!

5 String acoustic bass. http://www.thomann.d...bass_s_deko.htm

There have been, sometime, a left handed Jazz bass, and a B-450 'progressive', but both have gone.

EDIT: Still there after 13 minutes.

Mmmmm, if I hadn't just bought that P, I might well have bitten at this one. I haven't got it yet btw, though I had it sent to my office and haven't been there since!

Are you some distance from your office? If I had a new bass, I'd be straight down to my office.

The PJ4 has now gone. The acoustic basses are still there.

Oooh - I wish I had time! I work all over the place, so my office is just a base really. It's 30 miles west of my house and this week I'm working east so there is zero chance of me getting anywhere near a new bass until Tuesday now, boo.

I think the consumer contracts regulations gives you 14 days to decide that you want to return an item, rather than the seven days that the old distance selling regulations did. So, you should still be in time for that if you find something seriously wrong with the bass.

Hello,everybody! So,after 3 weeks or so,my P bass arrived...

So far I only put it thru a quick setup and honestly, I still haven't found anything wrong with it,apart from the D's stamped on the back of the neck and body.

All the hardware seems to work ok,the electronics too, there's a small amount of buzzing past the 12th fret but nothing out of the ordinary.

I'm pretty happy with it! I think it's a keeper! :D

3 weeks?!?! Do you live outside Europe?
Sounds like a result. Hope you enjoy it. What does it sound like?
Not really, but kinda... I live in the Azores, right there in the middle of the Atlantic ocean... It takes about a week to get to Lisbon, then another two to get here(by sea...)

It really sounds nice and warm as would be expected for an average P bass,I'm surprised...

I think came off the worst with a Deko (although the "hit" rate seems to be fairly high overall). My bass uke came with a back bow in the neck and the truss rod seems to be doing nothing at all. I get massive amounts of buzzing when I play as the strings are hitting the frets. It was a risk to buy one so fair play really.

I have some options though. First off, maybe the truss rod has been inserted the wrong way and I need to turn it right to loosen it. Worth a try anyway although I'm not sure if it's possible to fit one the wrong way. I could also try putting on some higher tension strings to try and pull the neck forward - any ideas on what would be higher tension than the thunderguts that came with it? Another option would be to defret it to see if that helps. Otherwise, I could dismantle it and sell the component (other than the neck and body most likely) as spares and recoup some of the money. Or is there a way to force the neck forward? I fear it would break with too much force though.

I still mess round with it as it's kinda fun still but I couldn't record it or play it live at all which is a shame. I may buy an Ashbury Bass Uke as I played on in Hobgoblin and it was great (this one, http://www.hobgoblin.com/local/products/GR35060/ashbury-bass-ukulele/ not the Fender-made one).

I remember your bass uke, and can't remember anyone else getting a worse item. I know that some people don't think it's reasonable to buy a deko and then return it under the consumer contracts regulations, but I would have done so in your case.

On the other hand, as a cheap thing you can practice doing stuff to it. That's why I bought my Deko PJ.

I did send a deko back once. They do accept returns. So if the neck is totally useless I'd return it if I were you. Naturally you can't return it with a reason of the useless TR. You need to find some other reason.

I'm outside of the time you have to return an item under the distance selling regs and I decided to take it on as a project anyway. I'm tweaking it, and may be able to raise the saddle height which may help. But yeah, you're spot on, I have something fun to have a play with and practice on which was one of the reasons I got it.

When was that? I was in the kitchen cooking a strudel, so assumed that I missed it. But my program didn't notice anything.
I checked at about 10:15pm and there was the same 6 items (that have been there for a while), the 2 "on request".
Then by 10:25 a PJ, a white Progressive and a couple of other acoustic guitars had gone on and sold out.
