just thinking about the links your folks have posted, surely a weblink searching fro 'deko' with in stock items only and Harley Benton as manufacturer would work on pc?
Search on 'Deko' doe not usually pull up all what's currently available. I guess the website search engine needs time to update its data. The main deko page and the mobile page are often different and both worth checking. These are also updated with some delay so many items listed as available are out of stock when you click the link. You need to be quick and lucky (or unlucky if your gas is a serious problem) to get a deko.
Welcome to BC, btw.

Pulled the trigger on it last night and I've just had order confirmation on it, so fingers crossed...

Looks like a good shout to me... Someone else has a NBD thread up about one of these and it looks great value at full price.

I bought my very first bass and its a Deko Harley Benton JB-75NA. I could not find anything wrong with it, at all. The action was fine and the intonation was fine. Electronics work fine. The tuners work fine. The neck is fine out of the box. I just had to tune it. Not sure why they sold this as Decoration Only for 42 Euros (Im glad they did). Here is also a little sound check for what its worth (Im a newbie so ... )

Thanks! I love it! I did forget to mention that couple of frets needed slight banking with rubber hammer but that I did on my own and sorted the slight buzz issue in 15 minutes. Another thing to be done is shielding because once I remove my hands from the metal parts its hissing. But this can also be found on the much more expensive Fender guitars (so I read) and can be remedied with copper tape.

This *might* be a grounding issue. Others are more knowledgeable about this than moi.

Might be. I did try to find info on the net and most say that if there is hissing when you touch the metal parts its grounding issue and if there is hissing when you have no contact with the metal parts is a shielding issue. But I have no idea about this so all input is welcome!

iv found a lot of basses havent got the ground running to the bridge which i find is a common cause of the unwanted buzz, although all my Harley Benton's have had the bridge ground present

and the Deko shortys are great fun!

If its buzzing when you *aren't* touching anything then you are correct that it is almost certainly a shielding issue. You'll probably also be able to hear that the buzzing sound changes or goes away if you move around the room or rotate on the spot.

Thanks Andy and Uncle for your replies! I will try and get some copper tape and do the job
Be warned that shielding it still might not fix it completely. Single coil pickups like you get on Jazz basses will always be susceptible to hum and in many ways its part of the "charm" ;) . You may also be able to reduce the interference by removing the source---other electronic equipment (especially TVs or monitors) can cause interference and dimmer switches on lights are notorious for it.

Good luck!
