Annoying Twit Posted December 11, 2015 Author Posted December 11, 2015
There is a 5er in my basket anyone interested?
They can disappear from baskets. It's either buy or not buy, I think. Quote
Andytre Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 its starting to look like we have some stiff competition! Quote

Annoying Twit Posted December 11, 2015 Author Posted December 11, 2015 Congratulations. I wonder if there is anything we can do about the auto-buying. Quote
Jonesy Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 I was thinking that too, it's ridiculous that they go in a matter of minutes!! And even more annoying when you see them for sale 2nd hand at only a tenner or so less than you can buy the proper stock for new. Either we're all getting too quick with the auto alerts, there's only low levels of stock for each model, or someone is bulk buying loads (which could be the case if eBay is anything to go by!). Either way it's annoying and they should do something to limit the amount of instruments sold per transaction/customer. In other news, my 4 string PJ arrived the other day and I can't spot anything wrong with it that a little bit of setting up won't fix. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to set a bass up, but that's kind of the reason why I bought the bass, so all is good! The Jazz is on it's way too so I'll do photo's and that when it turns up! Chienmortbb Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Just seen the note at the bottom of the page. They charge 20% UK VAT but they pay VAT in Germany, 19%. Not much difference but a nice little earner when they sell to the UK? Quote
yorks5stringer Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Tempted by the PJ 5 but I've had two, sold one on and I don't really need another...but it is a good transition from P to J! Of the two I had, one was heavier than the other, could be a good mule for upgrading pickups? Quote
mr zed Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 I've just ordered one of the PJ5's - my first foray into attempting to snag a deco. Now the wait for the confirmation email begins Quote

Annoying Twit Posted December 13, 2015 Author Posted December 13, 2015 I think they had some database problems over the last week. Too many things were very odd. I'm wondering if their database programming has more defects than the dekos themselves. Quote
CaptainDog Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I received the lefty deko PB-20 this morning. Not much wrong with it as far as I can tell. Neck was a straight as bejaysus...needed a half turn of truss rod to make it playable. A few frets at the higher end are uneven but nothing too serious. I'm getting a very strong high overtone on the open D - not sure what's causing that - perhaps a nut slot issue? Quote
CaptainDog Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I think I've found the problem - see the attached photo. Side fret dots should be entirely on the rosewood according to a photo on Thomann's site - but on my bass they are overlapping the maple. Could this really be the reason for 'deko' status? Quote

Annoying Twit Posted December 14, 2015 Author Posted December 14, 2015 I would love to have a bass with double fret dots on the 13th fret! I think the higher dots on my fretless are slightly off, but I'm not sure if this made it a deko. Quote

Rikki1984 Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 That's why i didn't expect to get it! I've put the money down for a bass a few times now and got the rejection email a few hours later so i thought nothing of it this time. I go the confirmation email ten minutes later. Well I've got an early Xmas present now! Quote
