The first number is the model code, not the date, so "23" relates to "Telecaster Bass". So it could very well be your day of birth bass, I'd buy it, just to be sure!! :D

"7" is Jazz Bass
"5" is Precision Bass

Just put a bare knuckle staggered pole 52 reissue pup in my Japanese reissue of this fantastic bass, and it sounds wonderful. Still waiting that lottery win, it could be me type bump!!!!
