I know that's cheap, but a lot of people on TalkBass are saying they're a bit dark and muddy, which is what you're trying to avoid isn't it?

I personally reckon you could get something loads better and more versatile for just a little more dough...

Might be worth trying to get hold of an Akai Headrush v2 if you like BC/Russian Circles. Great digital and analog delays, tap tempo and a great functional looper!

Pretty sure brian cook uses the ehx for feedback as opposed to actual delayed parts, at least i think i read that somewhere... For a really clear delay, i'd also vote dd-3 secondhand, really solid pedals.

If I wanted a cheap all rounder, I'd go for a second hand Boss DD6 or DD3 and just mess with it.

You can pay a fortune for stuff that is amazing and does allsorts (like I did with my strymon timeline in the end), but if your unsure quite what you wanna do with it, buy cheap and play with it as much as possible to discover how you will decide to use it... And that's the fun bit :)

The more I'm thinking, the more I don't think a delay is good for me, I'm also the singer in my band and it's very difficult to do pedals one and off when you're singing as well I find, maybe one day I can grab one for free, but for now, I'm just gonna leave it. Money is a b*tch at the moment too!

I'm just interested in people use of delays and where you use them?

Every time I get one I just can't find a use for it in anyway, it just seems to get muddy but I see delays on a lot of people's boards? I'm just looking at how people use them in a band setting?

:hi: I'm one of those Bassists who has a delay on their board - TC Alter Ego Delay (based on the 'Flashback') - and although aimed at guitarists, because of the 'Echorec and Deluxe Memory Man' Pre-sets, I think it sounds great on Bass. Subtlety is key. I haven't been in a band for years', but it's one of my favourite pedals. I also like the '2290' and 'Modulated' delays, and it also has a 40-second looper (great for creating something new) and 'Toneprints'. Expensive to buy new (£145), but pre-loved 'Flashbacks' come up often on Evil Bay. Recommended.

PauBass never sold his DD-3, maybe make him an offer? And do more instrumental bits! ;-)

Yes, my Boss DD-3 is still available if you want it...and you know you want it :gas:
