The Twickerman
Hi folks, I'm looking for a practice amp (for my daughter to use). I have a Danelector Nifty Seventy - which is great, but no longer available to buy. I found this Hiwatt for £50 http://www.amazon.co...=A378ZFZS53EIIT The price is good - but reviews I have read are not complementary. Anyone got any recommendations (under £80)? Thanks, - Nick.
badboy1984
I was looking at one of them when i was looking for a practice amp. Like you i don't see any reviews on them. I end up buying a Ampeg BA108 which is a decent small practice amp to use at home. I want recommend the BA110. Orange 25BX is pretty decent as well. Of course those are slightly higher then £80 but they are good amps.

Jonnyboy Rotten
I have an Ashdown Tourbus 10 available for sale (I haven't listed it in the for sale section - but in case the mods are looking I have paid my £20 for unlimited sales for a year! Surprisingly small and great for bedroom practice without disturbing anyone. For such a small cab it does kick it out and has good tone until you turn it up to full at which point it starts to lose its composure and becomes a little flatulent but I have only used it on about 3 occasions as I bought my Hartke A100 combo shortly afterwards. Also has bass/treble eq, phones out and MP3/Aux in. They retail at £69 - PM me an offer. I live near Watford so we could meet halfway if you are in Twickenham? *Edit - I have listed it now - http://basschat.co.uk/topic/227773-fs-ashdown-tourbus-10-practice-amp-mint/ Edited January 22, 2014 by Jonnyboy Rotten
The Twickerman
Thanks all. Thanks Jonnyboy. I start work in Kings Langley at the start of Feb - so I am sure we could work out something, I'm still doing my research right now.... Japhet
Line 6 LD15 is a nifty little amp. Loaded with all sorts of effects to get a taste of and with an input for Mp3 so you can play along to your ipod or whatever. Plenty loud enough for home practice but has a headphone socket too. Masses of sounds available which can be stored too.
adam87
My first amp was a 25w Marshall B25 combo bought back in 2000ish. I still have it and still use it today as my little practice amp or when I go to a friends pub for a small bass and guitar jam. Marshall are obviously one of the biggest amp manufacturers around and it is a well built little amp. They can be picked up for around £50 second hand. Has Bass, Mid, and Treble pots for adjustment, active and passive inputs and a headphone output. Not the bassiest of amps but its only small and I only have my 600w trace to compare it to but sounds sweet for its size. It is definitely worth a look on your local gumtree or ebay for one. adam87
Although I am out of the times, has been a while since I looked at bass equipment! The newer ones seem to be the Marshall MB15 and MB30. Either way, put one of those on your list too.
