Fender 8250M SuperBass strings SOLD
£9

Recommended Posts

I have here a set of Fender 8250 Super Bass strings, roundwound, gauged 45, 65, 85, 110 cut for a 34 inch scale four-a-side Fender-style headstock arrangement , strings-thru-body bass , so plenty of length left on these strings for most styles of bass. This set is practically brand new, with probably no more than an hours playing time on it, and actually probably less than that .

These strings are nickel plated steel over a round core, giving them a superb and versatile tone with a great feel. and are in fact the same as the set that comes fitted from the factory on the current range of American Standard basses from Fender. Yours for £9 plus postage.

EDIT:now with free U.K postage!

The 110 E string on this set gives a nice , even tension with the other strings and the fact that it is taperwound at the bridge seems to give some added clarity. Also very beneficial on both counts if you want to tune the E string down to D.

So 20 quid or so for a date at Nando's? Lovely. When are you free?

No strings, obviously.

I'm trying to put that whole male escort thing behind me nowadays ( can't keep trading on these good looks forever, I suppose) so I will have to politely decline, , but I'm sure if you look round in your local area ( or on Basschat!) you will find someone who is only too happy to take you up on that kind of offer, especially in the current economic climate.

The only thing I am selling nowadays are these excellent strings that are like brand new and still available .

These are the exact same set of strings ( minus the low B, of course) as on the bass in this video which showcases their all-round excellent , beefy tone :

Ed Friedland waxes lyrical about how much he likes these strings and how good they are at about 2.45 mins into the clip .

These really are very good strings that will make someone very happy

.Anyone who knows my history on these pages would know that I am on a quest to find The Perfect String, and many people are benefiting from that personal journey through the virtually brand new sets of strings that I end up flogging on here .I am only moving these on because I have gone to a much lighter gauge recently, and will be purchasing some more of these Fender strings in that gauge as soon as these are sold. They sound perfect on any bass, with great bottom end, full mids and plenty of brightness to give them a nice cut.

The taperwound E string on this set is its' secret weapon. The thinner core that goes over the bridge saddle makes a noticeable improvement to the clarity and uniformity of the sound of that bottom string, and helps create a very balanced tension set.

Buying used strings can be a bit of a dodgy undertaking, so I would cheerfully send these strings to you to try on your bass before you sent me any payment. They really are pristine ( although, in the interest of full disclosure, there is some very slight fraying of the grey silk on the ends caused by taking the strings off my strung- through- body P Bass ) , and I'm confident whoever buys them will agree that they are virtually unplayed. I have sold plenty of strings on here before, and have had nothing but satisfied customers.

I'm getting bored with bumping these strings, but it seems a shame to just leave them in my string box when some Basschatter could get some use from them and discover what good strings they are. For £9 , you can't go wrong , and seeing as it is another miserable Monday , I will now pay the U.K postage on these strings to cheer you up, and make me even more miserable .

Still here, still great strings still looking for a new home, and now with free U.K postage.

The 110 E string feels a nice balanced tension with the rest of this set, more so than the usual 105 E string in most standard gauge sets, probably due to the taper core / round core construction. Try them and you might really like them.
