RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE
whenever I try to put a few ideas together, the playback stops. A message appears,'this project has too many tracks etc.'Then mentions optimizing.. The thing is, I only use one track at a time. on this occasion, i am using loops from ezdrummer and a simple bassline. please help thank you
ambient
I used to have this on my old macbook with garageband, I was overdoing things. I was using 15 or so tracks of software instruments, synths and things though. Try freezing the tracks that you've finished with, free's up CPU usage. RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE
Mr.Ambient. Thanks for your quick response. Please could you explain how to freeze. ? What I am doing is, laying down a drumloop on 1 track. Then play that back and record bass on another track etc. The fun starts as soon as i start playing a bassline cheers
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE
BTW, I am using podfarm at the same time. This shouldn't be a problem should it? Not a memory issue ?

ambient
No problem, it seems odd though that you're having problems with just so little on there. I was using loads of synths before I ran into problems. Try it without podfarm see if it goes away. There's some info here about freezing tracks.
