Stompbox Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) Here’s my Peavey Foundation bass guitar up for sale. I’m looking for £175 –I think that’s very cheap for an American made quality guitar. It’s a really good example & I’ve owned it for a few years now and gigged it a good few tiimes. It’s a really excellent instrument – made in the USA with a really nice maple neck and fretboard, the scale length is 34”. The neck is fitted to the body like Fender guitars, with a four bolt mounting plate and it has a microtilt adjustment. The electrics are as on a Fender Jazz bass with two passive pickups each with a volume control and an overall passive tone control – I had this bass fitted with a pull potentiometer so that when you pull out the volume pot nearest to the neck the two pickups then run in series to give a bigger, fatter sound – more like the sound of a Precision. The bass dates to 1991 from the serial number (04973566), and it’s a really nice player, the weight is nice & easy at 3.5kilos, and the neck has a lovely feel to it. It has a few minor marks on it but no bad dings, the machine heads are all good, and the neck is nice & straight. I’m up in Morecambe near Lancaster, and you’re welcome to come over & see & try the bass before buying, alternatively I do go over to Rochdale pretty well every week now so you could see it there. I could ship it in a well packed cardboard box by Hermes or similar at extra cost. These American made basses are, I firmly believe, future classics, but I’m having to downsize and this guitar has to go. vmaxblues Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I have a matched pair of these (fretted/fretless) in sunburst and they are incredibly good instruments. Great necks to play, good hardware and electronics, at this money you cant go wrong! GLWTS
alyctes Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 If I didn't have one already (a rather battered metallic pink one), I'd definitely be after this. In fact, if my Aria sells...
