Bleurg
Today I had a few minutes in the company of something billed as a "Fame Baphomet" but actually it is the four string fretless variant of this: http://www.mayones.com/en/katalog/be_series/be_5_exotic Seemed decently made, played well and very attractive in the natural wood finish. Not familiar with the maker. Anybody got hands on experience?
ambient
I have a Mayones 6 string Elegance, brilliant bass. Jimmy Haslip and Janek Gwizdala both use Mayones basses.
Graham
I used to have a custom Be Exotic (mine had EMG single coils and an Aguilar OBP3), it was a very well made bass, no faults at all on fit and finish, played very nicely, had a jazzish profile neck. It was very modern sounding, worked well in the drop-B metal band I was in then - helpes me cut through the mix. Would also suit modern pop, soul and jazz, wouldn't pick it for Motown or classic rock though. I moved mine on when my tastes became more traditional a couple years back, but would happily have another one if the band I was in warrented it. Look up my old band Echovirus on Spotify or YouTube - I played all of our Invictus album with it.
TheGreek
I think they have a stand at this year's LBGS - if that isn't excuse enough to go...
