Guitar pedal taking too long/delay to kick into effect. Any help fixing?

Hey all
I use a Boss DS-1 with my bass rig and until a few days ago it worked fine.
But now when I press it it takes a split second to kick in. Ive tried unscrewing the pedal activator section and pressing the switch inside on its own but it still has this delay.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Potentially means the tactile switch is on the way out perhaps. Fairly standard repair for anyone worth their salt.
