You Got the Love - bass effects?

Got a song to learn for a little later next week, 'You got the Love' - Rufus & Chaka Khan - was just wondering what kind of effects might be on the bass in this song or what do to adjust to get this tone?

I play a westfield jazz copy, it gives a pretty clean sound so need to get that dirty sound that Bobby Watson gets on this one..

The main riff sounds like it's doubled with a fuzzed up guitar. I think I'd probably just go with some distortion on the bass and lose plenty of treble on the tone controls.

Don't think there is any effects on the bass. Sounds typical Jazz Bass with the neck pick-up wound down and the bridge pick-up wound up.
