GazWills
I'm considering a flanger, but have a few specific requirements, so looking for some recommendations... On an album I recorded last year, we put all of the bass tracks through a flanger (outboard rack unit, I can't recall the name), and I was able to manually set the frequency. I want this, in a BOSS-sized, ideally 9v pedal. So what do folks recommend? I imagine this rules out the simple 2 knob flangers, as I'd need to reduce the width the zero so as to eliminate the sweep. Hopefully this makes sense! Something old or new, though I don't want to use a blender / loop pedal if it has crappy bypass, and I still want to retain the bass strongly (will I in fact need a blender for this, or are there flangers where you can blend in with the clean signal??) cheers Edited January 28, 2014 by GazWills
Guest MoJo
TC Electronic Vortex Flanger. Very versatile. Check out the YouTube vids
fleabag
I suggest a NUX mod core - excellent pedal. Mine ( eventually 20 days later ) arrived from wherever they are ( China ? ) £22 free postage. Its also a phaser, chorus, trem, pan, rotary, U-vibe, vibrato. Ok, i dont use all those, ( Just flange and phase ) but when you consider just a flanger will cost maybe £25 ( 2nd hand ) and upwards, makes sense to get this and have the extra even if you dont use 'em Very versatile. Metal alround, not flimsy plastic, smooth knobs (ooer matron ) http://www.donnerdeal.com/nux-mod-core-guitar-effect-pedal-blue.html
fleabag
Oh yeah, it takes a normal 9v boss supply too, and does stereo if you like that sort of thing
jensenmann
I´m using a TC electronic SCF since two decades in my live setup. Through the times I bought a few others which basically sit unused in the corner after a short honeymoon phase.
bakerster135
Have you seen the Subdecay Starlight Quantum or DLX? Never tried one, but they look incredibly versatile and intriguing!...

BruceBass3901
The BF-2 is a great pedal. It seems to be quite common that it has a 'noisy' filter though, so you can here the sweep when you are not playing. Just a heads up Enjoy!
