paul h Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 It looks like I might be doing some gigs as the guitarist in an acoustic duo. I'm trying to do it with as much of my existing gear as possible so I just wondered if anyone has had experience of putting acoustic guitar and vocals through a Barefaced Compact? Thanks. Quote
Reverend Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I imagine it wouldn't sound that great. Acoustic guitar and vox need need an extra bit of sparkle, and the Compact lacks a tweeter. Give it a try though. A Super Midget or Midget would probably work better. Quote
RandomBass Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 We had to use my Midget as a monitor once, it was an emergency situation. However, I wouldn't recommend it for putting vocals out front as it lacks the important information where the tweeter should be. I'd guess it's the same with a Compact. Go full-range if you can. Happy Jack Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Every bass player should own a PA. It sort of goes with the territory ... Quote
Alec Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Yes, why *is* it that it's typically the bass player that own's the PA? Is it because, historically at least, we're accustomed to having to lug lots of heavy gear anyway, so it makes little difference to have more? Is it because we're so organised and capable, that we're able to run PA as well as play? Is it because we're the richest, so we can afford it? Is it because we're techies, rather than egotists (e.g. singers, guitarists) and so enjoy that side of things? Is it because 4 strings need so little attention we need something else to keep us occupied? Quote
