BigRedX
If you are going to make a 1-string bass then at least do it properly: Edited January 30, 2014 by BigRedX
Yes it is if you try and duplicate what you would normally do on a bass with the traditional number of strings and it makes you look a lot more busy in your playing (if if you aren't).
That is true, but they are not necessarily as accessible as with a four-string, for example. Unless you've got exceptionally big hands, that is. It would be a gimmick at best.. IMV... Now, give one to the Gtr...that IS an idea..!!
discreet
I don't know, I'd like to have a go on a proper one-string, or even two-string bass. I'm guessing there are few places one can go to try out such a beast, though. And I wouldn't fancy playing one live - I prefer to keep my bulges hidden. JTUK
I feel naked without 5 strings, ..or even MY basses, There is so much that would come to me that I need to be comfortable to be able to just do it. It just wouldn't be interesting to have any imposed straight-jackets in my world..
