xgsjx Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I'd go & try as many different ones as I could as one man's awesome is another's awful. So on that note, I give you this.... Quote
Paulhauser Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Ibanez GWB35. It is a well thought-out instrument with nice features. It has a quite strong attack and not-so-soft sound for a fretless. I have used this in a metal band and it did cut through,if you want I can dig up the recording I did with it. Quote
charic Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Ibanez and Warwick would be my first port of call but... how about a nice Yamaha? I'm not sure if they're still going but a Yamaha TRB1005F could fit the bill very nicely Quote
andyonbass Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 (edited) You could get an ACG graft for just a bit over your budget if you could manage it. My ACG fretless works really well for rock..... Edited January 31, 2014 by andyonbass Quote
DorsetBlue Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Schecter Stiletto Studio 5 maybe, all models of that are available Fretless? Quote
ambient Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Ibanez BTB 765 ? Check out Robin Zielhorst's playing with Exivious, he uses a fretless. He used to play Carvin basses, don't know what he uses now though. http://www.exivious.net/index.php?sub=band Quote
