Here is my Squier body that I sprayed in yellow, it has a high mass type bridge, Squier pickup and decent controls.
Neck pocket according to my vernier caliper is 64.2mm.

Any idea of the wood?

It's solid wood but not sure what though.

Is it a hardwood or a relatively softwood like basswood or agathis ?

It's weight, minus bridge and other hardware, should give a good indication of how hard the wood is I guess if you're unsure, as denser means harder with woods generally.
