0175westwood29 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 grabbing one of these. wondering if anyone else has one in there rig, my rig has a rack eq doing the job of a thumpinator cutting out anything below 25hz, i did think this might cut away the use of this pedal but when using a pitch shifter you can def still feel those lows 2 octaves down, so looking forward to getting it. might grab a di box aswell later so if we do a gig with a big pa i can run the blue box straight into it. andy Quote
tayste_2000 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 It's not going to be as good as you think, that's pretty much all I can say on it really Quote
tonyquipment Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Agree Unless you like the sound of farts Quote
0175westwood29 Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014
Agree Unless you like the sound of farts
ill admit, the octave side of the pedal isnt that useable but with my rack eq cutting the extreme lows it does give a rumble, but just recorded yesterday and it sounded brutal when the right hand dial is dimed (so pretty much all fuzz with a hint of the octave) had it after my mesa flux drive so was getting fed a dirty overdrive tone, used it to beef up certain parts. very impressed seeing as i tune to d standard and bought it on a whim. andy Quote
its pretty out there, used it at practice last night using the eqd tentacle octave up after it and then in to my strymon delay and it sounded huge, obviously you have to play high up the neck but sounded wicked. Dad3353 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Folks, strokes... To be fair, I plug straight into the amp; I was never going to be the biggest fan of this, anyway..! Quote
stevebasshead Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Quite like that...it's not going to work in most bands/songs I guess but something Muse-like would be a great setting for it. Quote

bartelby Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 I keep meaning to build one of the Blue Box clones, with the octave switch. Maybe I'll pick one up after Xmas. Quote
GarethFlatlands Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Used one that a studio had lying around on a track a few years ago, very lo fi and filthy sounding. Wouldn't have it on my board as I don't think I'd use it that much but it was perfect for that one section. Quote
0175westwood29 Posted December 17, 2015 Author Posted December 17, 2015 im thinking of grabbing another and throwing some mods at it! Andy Quote
