A stunning collection, well done for bringing together such a wonderful example of Stuart's companies work.

I'm the proud owner of the first production Ns5XL (003), I'll post a few pictures when I take delivery of my custom Spalted Flamed Maple in October and kill two birds with one stone.

wonderful! .....that plum stain Euro is lush and the white ones are just amazing looking

I've got a flame maple NS5 CRFM coming back to me this week and it'll soon be hobnobbing with the green stain Euro 5 . I'm now hankering after one of the spalted maple/zebrano/burr top ones too...quite fancy a 4... very addictive basses - I've yet to play a better bass at what I paid for them.

As there's been so much interest in the recent amazing Spector deals at Reverb I thought I'd bump my Spector porn thread...... and attach a generic pic of the new Dark Cherryburst Spector ReBop DLX bass I've just received. A real picture of the 'actual' bass will follow at some point... :)

EDIT Jan 2010: This bass has now been sold on purely because I need the money for a major bass purchase. Didn't want to sell but needs-be....

Cetera, whats the Rex Brown signature sounding like?
I'd love to try one out, because Pantera are one of my favourite bands and i always thought his tone was kick ass lol

The Rex Brown has a very punchy, slightly scooped tone due to the EMG-Hz pickups and circuit. For a more genuine growl/grind with more mids I'd recommend updating the pickups with full EMG's....

Ahh, interesting, (you can't tell, but Im stroking my imaginary beard right now lol)
If I ever do buy one, I'll take your advice as soon as i can. What EMG's do you recommend?

EMG35DC pickups running at 18v is what Rex uses....

BUMPING this thread due to a resurgence in Spector interest and a rash of Spector buying happening on these boards! :)

Oh, and I also have two more recently acquired Spectors to add to this thread when I've photographed them....

Who must put it down sometime soon! If anyone has any doubts about the ease of adjustment of the Spector bridge [as I did] - don't worry, it's easier than a conventional one.

Is there a red one missing? :)

John.
