Surrey has one of the lowest crime rates in the UK.
Are you within 5 miles of Godalming?
Do you have a dog?
Do you have an alarm?
Are you out between 07.00 and 17.30?
Can the serial numbers be removed?
Do you think I have GAS?
I really like the original 1976 US Spector SB1! That's really unusual.
Spector says that about 100 were made, though it's not quite as rare as the 2-pickup SB-2 (< 20 made).

This is a bit more GAS than I know how to deal with... I need a drink, or a good cry, or both. :)

I absolutely adore the white spectors, ever since i first saw the video to "forever" and gene plays one i totally fellin love, i also love the one he had in the "tears are falling" video cant remember if it was red or pink, ive played warwick for years as i couldnt afford an NS2 ive no excuse these days with the euro series, must try and get a white one.

What's the pickup? Looks a bit like a chrome Model 1?
And how does that sound?
+1

A great collection overall though! Have you got shares in the company??

oh come on now. that's just being mean. All you're doing is driving up the price of spectors for the rest of us (supply and demand and all that)!

Is there really much difference in sound, especially once you're on stage?

It's an original Dimarzio Model 1 I believe...... Larry DiMarzio had links to the same luthiers co-operative that sprouted Stuart Spector, Ned Steinberger, Vinnie Fodera etc.....

It's got a nice full tone, though obviously being passive it's not as powerful as the other basses....
Which is your favourite?
It's really hard to choose..... many have different preamps (Tonepump, EMG, Aguilar, Spector, HazLab) and different feels to the neck....

The cherry sunburst pre-Kramer US NS2 is precious because it was my first Spector and it has the lovely HazLab preamp.

The holoflash black US NS2 Custom is a fave because it is a very limited finish, hand built in the US workshop, has amazingly colourful abalone crown inlays & looks a million dollars under stage lights.

The white Euros (Euro 4 & NS2JA-CR) are very special as they are brand new, mint and I've always LOVED white Spectors.

The rest are all wonderful too..... what a question to ask..... it's like choosing your favourite child! :)

Thanks Lee!

Ah yes, Gene played an original 1983 NS2J in white (that's the model I have the limited reissue of) in the Forever video. In the Tears Are Falling video he used a 'porsche red' US Kramer NS2 with black hardware. That's one that's on my GAS list..... :)
Awesome

Time to start collecting my Wicks again

On a serious note! How much difference do you notice between the various (NT) Euro and USA models?
Cheers! :)

There is a difference...... but I don't believe there's £2000 worth of difference! It's all about a higher grade of maple and hand finishing really....

Personally if I were to buy any more US Spectors they would be s/h ones from the 80's, either pre-Kramer or Kramer. Much better value for money and the chance of a HazLab preamp inside....
