Billy Apple Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 As Wizard pick-ups and web site is no more, I thought this might be a useful place for Wizard owners to post up snaps, descriptions and sounds, in fact anything that will build up a useful reference for the Wizard brand and craftsmanship. I've never had any, just thought it was a shame to hear of such a well talked about maker packing it in. So please, pull them out, take a few shots and tell their story.. Over to you... Quote

Noisyjon Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I have an 'Area 51 Stealth' P bass pickup in one of mine with flats on and it is just great. For info on that and all the other bass pickups I found this: http://web.archive.org/web/20101228180331/http://www.wizardpickups.co.uk/shop.asp?category=Bass Cheers, Jon Quote

When you get a bit of time could you whip it out and take a few shots (missus!) Quote
Noisyjon Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 It's the Way Back Machine website that has an archive of the Wizard site that you can look at and click through the pages! As for shots of the Area 51 Stealth, Sean's recent ad has a couple of good pics: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/228111-sold-wizard-stealth-area-51-p-pickup/page__p__2354582__hl__wizard%20stealth__fromsearch__1#entry2354582 Quote
dannybuoy Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Ah cool - I forgot about the way back machine! I posted recently asking for advice as I have a pair of unidentified Wizard Jazz pickups. Now I can see what the resistances of the various models are I have half a chance of figuring it out with my multimeter! Quote
CHRISDABASS Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 all the instruments on our site have wizard pickups! (apart from the bass with dual humbuckers) does that count? http://alpher.co.uk/ i have two sets of 5 strings "64s" left in stock! pretty rare these days Quote
Conan Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Wizard Hammers are my favourite after-market upgrade for any basses with J-type pickups. EMGs are good too, but for very different reasons.. Hammers = clear beef. They are, in effect, the consommee of the pickup world! Quote
Paul S Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 I have a Wizard Trad on my bitsa Precision. I tested many different pups to find the old school, woody P Bass sound I had in my head and the Wizard Trad captured it. Quote
