squire5 Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 I've just been watching Norman Watt-Roy live at the blues festival in Downpatrick N.Ireland.He had to deal with a decrepid Trace Elliot set up which was defo causing him grief. He was with Wilko Johnston and he played a storm. He definitely is a character on stage but my god,can he play bass!Unfortunately they had to cut the set short because the rains came and it was becoming slightly dodgy on stage.(Outdoor gig if you hadn't already guessed). One thing. His bass was the usual pinky bronzy coloured Jazz but the neck wasn't a Fender neck. The headstock had shades of SX about it.It had a logo which I couldn't make out from where I was.Anybody shed a light? thisnameistaken Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 Was it this? There was a thread about it here the other day. Quote
squire5 Posted July 6, 2008 Author Posted July 6, 2008 Thats very similar, except that Norms had a Badass 2 and there wasn't so much 'literature' on the headstock. It was more like a circular motif. But thats an amazing replica, right down to the gouge by the bridge pup.must look for that thread. Quote

Bassassin Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 Bigger pic - actually the background off Norm's Myspace - the design looks like it incorporates part of the Bass Centre logo - this is probably a prototype of the one they sell. Jon. Quote
Count Bassy Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 (edited) Out of interest, do you notice, in the first pic, how far he's pulled that A string over in the act of plucking it! He must be one hard player. No letting the amp to the work for him! Edited July 7, 2008 by Clive Thorne Quote
