That is definitely a player's bass. I can't see this being displayed on an accountants office wall, gathering dust.

Ok, aside from the tuners, bridge, pickup(s?), extra string tree, scratchplate, electronics, extra body routing, wood filler in the headstock and paint job - is it a 1963 body? Have the ashtray holes been filled?

All that said, if it has been a pukka touring bass for a pro bassist it probably sounds and plays pretty good

I don't know, I guess I would expect to pay at least £1500 for any new real pro quality bass and even then you wouldn't guarantee it would be a really good player

I asked him, there was a mix up reading the serial number: it's in the 110000s (1966/67) but was originally incorrectly read as in the L10000s (1963)
