How do you store your bass(es)?

I have a small collection of basses (a whopping 2 in total) and am currently pondering different storage options. So I thought I'd post a poll to gauge how other BC members like to store their prized possessions at home... and why.

We have a 3 year-old in the house, so I'm currently considering wall hangers until he's a little older and his fingers are less sticky.

My home is my own domain, so the basses (and guitars) that I play most regularly are out on a variety of floor stands ready to be used. The ones that I don't currently play are stored in their cases.

2 in hard cases, 1 in a semi-rigid case, 1 in a gigbag standing upright and 1 completely naked standing balanced in a corner.

That's me as well
The basses I use for gigs and practice normally stay in their case's and my home practice basses are mainly on stands in the mancave

Hang them on the Hercules stand that I gig with and
I have a music 'room' set up and they get played everyday.

If I am going away for more than a few days I will store them in
cases and be less obvious to find if burgled...

but seriously, I keep my 3 basses and 1 guitar on a guitar rack in my music room.

Pretty much the same for me. The one which is out will change depending on what I'm up to gig or practise-wise.
Having at least one out all the time means that it's easy to grab time for practice and 'fun'. I often grab a couple of minutes before leaving for work in the morning. I find having to unpack an instrument from its case or bag is a real barrier to any kind of regular playing.

Can I go for a mix of all the above? I've got a couple of guitars on the walls, some on a triple stand by the sofa, a few leaning against amps and stuff in the spare room, a pile of cases in the studio, with a bunch of things in there, and I've probably forgotten a few (I think I left one in the boot of the car last week...)
I voted the last option.

One day I'll get my brick built barn renovated and have a permanent and safe place to be able to leave gear out, but until that happens, all of mine live in hard cases unless I'm using them.

My double bass is in the corner of the bedroom and I have my Squier out downstairs in the living room so I can grab either at anytime. Anything else is stored in cases and I've been ruthless in recent years, if it is in the case too long it gets sold on.

Always one on a wall hanger and one on a Hercules stand. All others in their hard cases.

Have 8 basses (was9 until last year). My jd bass is by the fireplace, next to a buottle of jd. My Telebass is in a roksak gigbag.
My washburn status is in the bedroom leaning against the glass shelving unit in my bedroom. The rest are in a warwick rack which I hate.
Previously , before my brother invaded my spare room ( was/is a music room), I had 2 basses on the wall and the rest below.
The hooks are still in the wall , and when he moves out approx 2 years time, I will have a different setup.

One in its case,which is hanging on the wall. The other hanging on a Hercules floor stand. The mini-Rocks know that they can gently touch anything on the bass, except for the tuners.

If I had cases for them all they would be in them. As it is the best ones are in cases and four hang on the wall.

In hardcases apart from the one I'm loving at the time. That one is out in a stand in my front room next to my bass chair :-)

Eight in a rack in what used to be a music room, now it's child number two's room, but sadly also the only place they can go. If child number two begins to mess with them a rethink may have to happen.
About wether to keep child number two.

One (guitar, not child) in the basement which is my rehearsal room but not suitable for long term storage of instruments.

7 in a rack, the rest in cases or gig bags - in my 'office' (man cave). One is at the menders.

had to choose hangers, but the acoustic is in its case, 1 on the wall, the 1 from the last gig in the gigbag and the other 2 are on guitar stands with hangers.

Very rarely play at home, they they stay in their cases between rehearsals & gigs.

One on the wall next to computer, whichever one I am currently using lives here, the others in cases in spare room and under the bed

My guitars are on one of those 5-guitar stands. I use gig bags so they're in the bags, on the stand, bags are not zipped up so I can pull them out, but it means I don't bang them together when I put one back.

My double basses are sharing an alcove in the dining room, one in each corner. They can't be walked past, and the dog steers well clear.

Two gigging basses in cases; practice bass on a stand, double bass in a cover in the cupboard couple of old knackered ones in bin bags in the loft!
