crashdesk Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Been looking for an iPhone app tuner. Anyone any recommendations? Need one that you plug the jack lead in (how do I connect to the iphone?) Thanks, C Quote
Grangur Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 gString. I've got it on Android, but it's also on the iPhone. It's also FOC. Quote
moonbass Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I use N-Track tuner. Seems to work pretty well. Quote
crashdesk Posted February 12, 2014 Author Posted February 12, 2014 Couldn't find gstring but did find ntrack. It says that you hold your bass close to the phone but doesn't mention anything about plugging in. Do you plug in your bass? Quote

bartelby Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 TC Electronic Polytune and something like this for a cable: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Griffin-Guitar-Connect-iPhone-GC17122/dp/B003VWZJEQ Quote
crashdesk Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 Cheers. Still can't access the gstring app. Mustn't be supported on my iphone/OS :-( Quote
Mark Dyer Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I'll use the TC Electronic Polytune, it's not perfect but does a pretty good job, the tuner in the iRig software also works well. Quote
crashdesk Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 Thanks again. Think I will use one of these, http://proto-pic.co.uk/audio-adapter-1-4-to-3-5-mm-stereo/?gclid=CL2u9euaybwCFXGWtAodQVQAPw. Bit cheaper :-) Quote

The weight of a 6mm guitar lead stressing the tiny solder joints of the headphone socket is asking for trouble. Quote
vsmith1 Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Software: PolyTune, iStroboSoft - even using it with the iPhone mic work OK. Hardware: I have Peavey Ampkit Link but any of the other hardware interfaces seem OK. Quote
crashdesk Posted February 14, 2014 Author Posted February 14, 2014 Job done. Purchased Polytune. Great app!!! Very accurate. Thanks everyone. Quote
