Jimryan Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Evenin' all, Right, I'm in the mood for sitting down with a nice bottle of red, a Cuban cigar and a decent album. I'm thinking soul/funk/rare groove. Something no too fast, nice and relaxed, but with a definite groove, a nice tight bassline to inspire me for the next week when I get round to recording. Overall, a great album to chill out to. Cheers all Quote

Diablo Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Alabama Shakes - Boys & Girls or Vintage Trouble - The Bomb Shelter Sessions. My two chill-out but rock-out albums of recent times. A great mix of songs on them. Quote
xgsjx Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 If you're still up, get D'Angelo's Voodoo on. Pino on bass for a good few of the songs too. Quote

Bring it on home to me.... Always gives me a lump in my throat. Perfect album for being home alone with a drink on and a smoke on. Great choice WOT. Astral weeks is a great one as well but you need to be in the mood for it. Quote
Paul S Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Bit late. Maybe another night... something I've always liked but you never hear of the band - Randy Pie. The album Highway Driver is a forgotten gem imo. 1974, great jazzfunk. The whole album isn't on YouTube but all of the tracks are there singly. Here 'Super Sid' Great bass groove in this http://youtu.be/tXTkn85Pb_Q Quote
