Damonjames Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Can anyone recommend me an amazingly talented bass teacher near wigan? I have a contact for A great teacher but he lives on the other side of Manchester and need to reduce my travel time. Can anyone recommend one or volunteer? Feel free to pm if you would prefer. Mods, I appreciate this could go somewhere else in the forum, but I thought more people might see it here than in the theory section. Feel free to move it if necessary :-) Quote
jakenewmanbass Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Isn't Simon Goulding in that area? Quote
Damonjames Posted February 16, 2014 Author Posted February 16, 2014 Hi Jake!, Ironic you ony offered for a one off last Month!! And her I am asking again. The guy that I was getting lessons from is great for one offs, but I think I need something more regular and he is just too far away. I have sent simon a message so will see if he gets back to me. Cheers mate! Quote
HowieBass Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 There's a website to find music teachers, and there's a hit for the WN5 area http://www.musicteachers.co.uk/teacher/c50b3c5d2b004514cf28 Quote
jakenewmanbass Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 No probs Damon just hope you get sorted mate. I don't know Simon personally (apart from being FB friends) but we have lots of friends in common and I hear very good things about him. Let me know if you have any trouble getting in touch and I can drop him a PM on FB Quote
jakenewmanbass Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) Also Gary Culshaw (who taught both me and Simon) is in Preston, from Chorley originally but I think he's still in Preston. Gary is one of the UK's most underrated great bass players IMO, really fab groove, swing, time, harmony everything. Edited February 17, 2014 by jakenewmanbass Quote
