Paul S Posted May 6, 2014 Share Posted May 6, 2014 I had one a few years ago, sold it when I had no more use for a fretless. Bought another last year when I did, now sold it again. I find them perfectly ok. But I replaced my last one with a Westone Thunder 1A fretless which, for me, is better in every way. I prefer the bass itself, the way it is built, the unlined rosewood fretboard, the tone. It just feels more comfortable and of better quality. Status black nylon flats and off I go. Grassie Posted May 7, 2014 Share Posted May 7, 2014 I've also had a VMJ, good bass for the money, but I found the pickups to be fairly wooly sounding (the DD's on my Squier VM P bass were worse - they're the first thing you should replace IME).
