Raslee
Incoming student bursary means I'm toying with getting a below £200 bass for using at local jam nights, rough festival/party all nighters, and places i just don't really want to take my old Jazz or Stingray. Plus for use at home too as both of my basses generally stay in their cases due to rampant 4yr old painting everything she see's and also new baby rasta en route for delivery June sometime - so incoming puke bombs no doubt So I've been looking for something a bit different to my current two basses and of course been perusing the second hand section...noting Aria Gt's, Epiphone Les Pauls (never tried one but totally different to what i have already)...or the obvious choice would perhaps be a Squier CV P......so anyhow fire your best sales pitches and opinions welcome - i'm open to most things apart from pointy metal style basses......also perhaps looking for something that i can resell at a later date. Thanks Edited February 16, 2014 by Rasta
HowieBass
I keep looking at this Vintage V4 (Precision) bass and so far have resisted... http://www.gak.co.uk/en/vintage-v4bk-bass-boulevard-black/18004

I would say it was better than an average Squier Affinity, and on a par with the VM series.

I reckon I'll perhaps get a better bass second hand (well in theory ).

bagsieblue
Hey Rasta, if you could stretch your budget a little to my SGC Nanyo for a repeat customer then that would fund my planned extra special re fin of your/my Fortress. Paul S
I would buy the white USA made Peavey Foundation that is for sale here if it were my cash. Unlikely to get a better bass for the money. gjones
The old standard Squier Jazzes are great value. Plus VM and Classic vibe Squiers. All well under you target price.
Raslee
Some very tasty bits of kits there guys, thanks for the replies. Bagsieblue, i used to have a Bass Collection exactly the same as that many years ago and sold it some guy in Ireland, was a great bass...i'll give that some great consideration but my budget is limited based on the preggers rasta and her choice pram shopping. Also liking that Peavey foundation too, never heard of them but it sure looks nice.
paul_5
There's a lovely black and maple P/J bitsa for sale with some nice hardware too (mighty mite neck etc...) that looks very tempting http://basschat.co.uk/topic/228104-fs-precision-bass-special-bitsa-blackblackmaple-now-l185/page__pid__2369525#entry2369525
Well done with the Farida - I got the Farida Jazz and it's a corker, better than the Squier CVs that are made in the same factory and better than the Mex Fender I sold after buying the Farida, it's more on a par with US Fenders IMHO. I might have a gamble on a J&D just for the hell of it What's a Qtron+?....... do I need one???
