wishface
I have tried listing something for sale and everytime I click to Post the message I just get directed to a page asking for donations. I don't want to make a donation, why is this happening? Are you saying that only people that pay you can advertise? If so why not make this clear before i take time creating and advert and uploading images? I can't even see if the advert has correctly uploaded because, again, i get this link. RhysP
The selling rules & guidelines are here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?app=forums&module=forums§ion=rules&f=
wishface
So i have to pay to advertise? Could you not have made this clear in the first place? I've posted the advert three times and gotten this message as well as uploaded a bunch of images. £7 to place an advert is quite ridiculous. Clarky
£20 for unlimited adverts is bl**dy cheap compared to the c.10% fees on eBay/Paypal and gets you a specialist bass audience, many of whom have really helpful feedback threads to help with the trust side of things - and if its a low value item (less than £50) it costs you nothing to advertise Up to you Edited February 17, 2014 by Clarky

BassBus
But it is also worth contributing a little dosh to help the site continue, whether or not you are selling. This lot doesn't come for nothing.
chrismuzz
Hi wishface. The above comments pretty much sum it up. I paid for my years subscription to the marketplace and sold my cab within a few days so it was well worth it for me! chrismuzz
..?
I think it's a good idea. Every so often somebody asks why they can't post an ad and it turns out its due to the fee. I guess those of us that spend our lives on here take the rules for granted and forget they're not immediately obvious to regular folk

ped
Yeah I think the page can be re-worded. Will look at it - the wording on the page (tab) at the top of the forum is clearer. There's also a little box which says how much it costs when you hover over the 'price or trade value' box but again, it could be clearer. It identified that you haven't paid the £20 yearly fee so it asked you to pay, and gave you the option of a one off £7 payment instead if you prefer to list just one item.
Something on here, at a realistic price will sell, it may take a month or two but someone will be interested. Worst case is maybe you end up in a trade. To high a price it won't sell anywhere on the internet. Other than that gumtree for local stuff, or ebay and their fees, or join preloved or somewhere similar. None of them are stuffed to the gills with bassists.
