Billy Apple Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 (edited) Up for sale is my early Matsumoko Westone Thunder 1A. Bought on a whim as it was the first bass I had when I was 16, but it just aint getting played. Plus I'm just not fussed with active basses. Everything works as it should, lovely low action and powerful sound. I believe it to be all original, but the front strap button has been moved to under the horn. It has plenty of mojo, but is in not bad nick for a 30+ year old bass. I'll try to get some better pics up later, and it's shown without the TRC which is on the bass in real life. £150 collected or delivered within 50 miles of Sluff/London type thing. Anymore than that and we work something out. Will post with buyers garnishing. Get tomorrows classic today! Edited July 29, 2014 by Billy Apple
TRC ???? I don't need this myself, but I suspect many around here know my love of the Westone THunder 1a. Incredible woods and build quality. Also they are a modder's dream. And just for the record, Fender 63mm heel necks fit in the socket beautifully. This is an excellent 150 quid's worth for somebody. GLWTS.
hamfist Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014
Truss Rod Cover.
Ah, of course !
TheGreek Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Also my first bass - good bits of kit - especially at this price...surprised it hasn't sold already TBH..
The Admiral Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Nice bass, and I sooooo wanted one when I was a kid back in the cromagnon era. Very off topice, but - Interesting juxtaposition on the book front : idiots guide to Buddhism, and Street Justice!

IainRoberts Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Ah memories! My first bass was a Westone concord, very quickly followed by a fretless thunder 1, lovely guitars...I sold mine a couple years back to help pay for a vigier deltametal...must say the westone played just as well!
iconic Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Ohh my old bass...still looking good! Buy with confidence billy apple is a delight to deal with and he is only the 3rd owner of this A1
King Tut Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 I think I also used to own this. Only sold it cos it hangs different to a fender due to the short top horn. Very powerful punchy bass. Nice.

eLJaybud Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 First bass I borrowed was a 2A played through a borrowed Beatles bass amp - the one on a frame. Really good basses but the first decent bass I bought a Jaydee and I could never go back.
